Hounds Shut Out By Frisco On Saturday

Frisco scored a single run in five, consecutive innings Saturday night, defeating the RockHounds, 5-0, with three pitchers combining on a 5-hit shutout.

Hounds Reach Playoffs Again With Win In San Antonio

When the 2010 season began, Ryan Edell was a member of the Cleveland Indians organization. Friday night in San Antonio, he became a 10-game winner for the RockHounds, and that 10th win sent the RockHounds back to the Texas League playoffs.

Hounds Cut Magic Number In Half

Carlos Hernandez' second consecutive brilliant start ... two RBI (including the game-winner) from Val Majewski ... and another outstanding game from Petey Paramore later, the 'Hounds had taken a major step toward the post-season with a 4-2 win over the Missions at Nelson Wolff Stadium in San Antonio.

Missions Score Late To Gain Ground On Wild Card

It was a completely different game from the less-than-pretty 8-3 San Antonio win in the series opener, but the Missions scored in the seventh to tie and the eighth to take the lead, edging the RockHounds, 2-1, Wednesday night at Nelson Wolff Stadium.

Hounds Walk 14 In Loss

The RockHounds got off on the wrong foot with a combination of errors and walks in San Antonio on Tuesday night and fell 8-3 to the Missions. The two teams are in a heated battle for the final playoff spot and will resume the four game series at Nelson Wolf Stadium on Wednesday night.

Andy Jenkins Leads Frisco Over Hounds

Jenkins' 2-run double into the right-field corner scored Rangers Major Leaguer Christian Guzman and Emerson Frostad, breaking a 4-4 tie as Frisco evened the 3-game series at a game apiece, bringing the RoughRiders to within one game of the RockHounds in the Texas League South second half pennant race.

Hernandez Shuts Down Major League Lineup

With the top third of the order consisting of Christian Guzman, Ian Kinsler and Nelson Cruz (each wrapping up a re-hab assignment before returning to the Rangers), the odds of Carlos Hernandez earning his ninth win ... the the 'Hounds their fourth shutout ... were probably pretty "long."

Affronti Haunts Hounds As Hooks Win

Affronti went 4-for-4 with two runs and four runs batted in, including the biggest swing of the bat in the game, a bases-loaded triple that snapped a 2-2 tie and sent Corpus Christi on its way to an 8-3 win and a split of the 4-game series.

Cook’s Ninth Inning Double Does The Damage

David Cook's 2-run double in the top of the ninth was the difference Thursday night, as the Corpus Christi Hooks defeated the RockHounds, 4-3, at Citibank Ballpark. Cook's double snapped a 2-2 tie and a 'Hounds rally fell one run short in the home half of the ninth.

The ‘Wright’ Time For A Big Inning

Matt Wright earned his sixth win, and lower his ERA back under three in the process (2.98), as the RockHounds erupted for nine runs in the fourth inning and went on to defeat the Coprus Christi Hooks in front of more than five thousand (5,078) at Citibank Ballpark.

Edell Dazzles Again In 5-1 Win

Ryan Edell went 8.0 strong innings, earning his ninth win of the season, and Archie Gilbert belted a bases-loaded double in the third inning as the RockHounds opened a critical, 4-game home stand with a victory.

Godfrey Pitches Well Despite Loss

Saturday, it was the RockHounds who got to the opposition's bullpen, erupting for six runs in one inning and going on to post a victory. Sunday, the league's top offense did the same. The Northwest Arkansas Naturals are, by nearly 20 points, the Texas League's best-hitting ballclub, hitting .289 .

Hounds Break Out To Snap Skid

The RockHounds busted out of a 3-game slide on their road trip, scoring eight unanswered runs in the last two innings to defeat the league's best team in the process. They did it with a series of big swings, three of them from two solid hitters who have been "missing in action" from the box scores of late, rallying to defeat Northwest Arkansas, 9-2, Saturday night in Springdale, Arkansas.

Hounds Get Swept In Tulsa, But Hold South Lead

In the four (3-game) series' played Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, North Division clubs won 11-of-12 from the South. Only Frisco managed a win, defeating North Division leading NW Arkansas. End result? The Naturals' lead in the North went from three games to two. In the South, first half champ Frisco moves into a 2nd-place tie with San Antonio, three games in back of the RockHounds.

Hounds Fall 3-2 In Tulsa

Schaeffer's first RBI double tied the game at 2-2 in the sixth, and his second two-bagger gave the Drillers a 3-2 lead in the last of the eighth. He then scored what would be the winning run on a Radames Navario single to cap a 2-run eighth.

Hounds Cant Contain Drillers Offense

In Wednesday's win, the Drillers pounded out 16 hits, snapping a 3-3 midway through the game, and went on to a 10-4 win at ONEOK Field in Tulsa. The Drillers scored twice in the sixth to take a 5-3 lead, and Jason Van Kooten led off what would be a 4-run seventh inning with a 400-foot home run to center field.

Dramatic Comeback Caps Off Homestand

The RockHounds trailed the league's top team, Northwest Arkansas, by a score of 6-1 entering the last of the eighth inning. A Jemile Weeks double started what would be a 5-run inning, with the RockHounds tying the game at 6-6.

Godfrey Makes His Return To The Rotation

The RockHounds will conclude their current 10 game home stand on Monday night at Citibank Ballpark and attempt to finish the stretch with a 5-5 record to hold on to a slim lead in the South Division. First pitch is at 6:30 PM.

Wright Shuts Down Naturals As Hounds Extend Win Streak To Three

Josh Horton continued a torrid stretch, going 2-for-3 and scoring three runs. In his last three games, the RockHounds' shortstop is 8-for-10, scoring six runs and driving in four more. He has added three walks, reaching base in 11-of-13 trips to the plate.

Hounds Follow Brown’s Hot Bat To Series Win

The RockHounds picked up where they left off Thursday, scoring in seven-of-eight innings in which they stepped to the plate, building a 6-0 lead and going on to an 11-5 win over Tulsa.
